is NOW open for business !!
ADDING TO THE SCHEDULE FROM THIS PREVIOUS INTERVIEW - AFTER THE WONDERFUL TURNOUT ON SUNDAY, FINNEGAN'S BLACK CLOUD HAS BEEN OPEN ALL WEEK! THIS MEANS THAT THERE WILL BE LINE DANCING WITH KAREN AND JIM THURSDAY NIGHT - JULY 9TH - get to the new Black Cloud - check out their new menu - DANCE the night away!
Finnegan’s Black Cloud? Yes, you heard it right.
Many in our community and neighboring communities know or have heard of the Finnegan Restaurants and Taverns. Mr. Tim Finnegan is bringing his well-known atmosphere of wonderful food, great entertainment and relaxing fun to Highway #1 between Palm Coast
and Bunnell.
I have heard all of the rumors about the future of the Black Cloud and today I had the opportunity to go there myself. The place was busy with activity sprucing the place up.
As many of you have remarked, the condition of the building and business left a lot to be desired. Mr. Finnegan has his team working very hard to get the building in shape for business - inside and out.
As I looked around, I saw polished tables and woodwork, a second dance floor, clean new banners waving from the ceiling, decorations new and old - I can't wait until the place is ready and open - you will have to come and see for yourself!
First of all I am sure you want to know some details - here is a list:
July 5th, Sunday: B.C. will have its “Soft” opening with Harry Smith and his Karaoke. Harryoke has been a constant for the B.C. and will continue with his Sunday entertainment .
July 10th - Friday night of the Grand Opening Weekend - Finnegan’s Black Cloud will be open to the public at 7:00pm with a great menu and wonderful entertainment. The band “Traces of Gold” will be playing for our enjoyment on opening night.
July 11th - Saturday night of the Grand Opening Weekend - Entertainment will be a band called “Small Town Boys”. This band has been around for many years, playing for many of Mr. Finnegan’s venues and elsewhere - a popular band for listening and dancing pleasure that has entertained us throughout Daytona, Ormond Beach and elsewhere.
Check out the Finnegan's Black Cloud Saloon Facebook Page for schedules, entertainment listings - see the "before" and (soon) "after" photos...
Mr. Finnegan intends to continue the night-time traditions of Harryoke Sundays, Big Band Tuesdays, Line Dance Thursdays with Karen & Jim & country DJ- and Bands on the weekends. He has a great menu planned for us - of course he will continue with burgers, sandwiches, fish, chicken and all types of Tacos (yes, fish tacos, too!) multiple offerings of Chicken Wings, pizza and on and on…. he told me he plans to run with Prime Rib nights, perhaps other specialty nights… of course all of this depends upon the customer base of which he is very confident and he is ready to provide the top notch service and comfortable venue you would expect from a Finnegan’s establishment.
Mr. Finnegan has surrounded himself with talent to help run the bar/restaurant. The General Manager is a woman often referred to as “Tiny” - a “hell-on-wheels” little lady named Helen. To run the kitchen is Eduardo of Eduardo’s Pizzeria. Taking charge of the bar is former Italian American Club President and respected IA Board member Pete, and his lovely wife Connie will be heading up the floor wait-staff.
For those of you not familiar with the Finnegan area establishements, following are just a few of the restaurants he owned, built up and sold over the years (approx) :
Finnegan’s Beachside Pub - Flagler Beach - sold this 8 years ago - new owner named it Finn’s
Finnegan’s Too - Palm Coast - Coquina Lanes - (1988-1991)
Finnegan’s Colonial Tavern in Eustis (2011-2012) NW of Orlando, just N of Mount Dora
Finnegan’s Bars and Restaurants in......Daytona and Ormond Beach -
